Ski Week

Every year, QSI Sarajevo organizes a Ski Week for all students, from 5 YOC through Secondary 4. It's one of the school's longest-running traditions, now in its third decade, and it has become a defining part of what QSIS looks like as a community.

Instruction is led by licensed and certified ski instructors with experience working across age groups, from young children to teenagers. Since Spring 2024, snowboard lessons have also been available, giving students more choice in how they take to the mountain. All students are required to wear a helmet while skiing or snowboarding, and equipment including skis, snowboards, boots, poles, and helmets can be rented for the week. Students receive academic credit for Ski Week, which counts toward their Physical Education requirements and reflects QSI's recognition of learning that happens outside the classroom.

Ski Week is more than a physical education excursion. A full week on the mountain builds confidence and responsibility, tests independence, and puts the QSI Success Orientations into practice in new ways. Students manage their own gear, encourage each other on difficult runs, and push past what they thought they could do.
